For me it was like all the ideas swilling around in my head – things we have been trying to implement at work in one fantastically simple easy to read (and implement with our clients – I have 2 in mind already – I was really sweating on how to present it to them no more) – its like reading a summary of all the different ideas you hear but picking out the meat that makes the difference – what’s that saying we have the tires hitting the road just not spinning – plus there was new insights on how to work with clients – it was great to read about Dale’s views on the Financial Planners (FP) as we too see them as glorified sales man with a huge advertising budget – one such firm last week said don’t work with appleyard’s we will throw in the accounting for free – as if there is no value in talking to us.

On the weekend I was reading through the Buffet book – The making of a capitalist – I think that is the title and it talks in there about how many $$ are under management just mirroring the index – so the FP whose role it is to pick where to invest your $$ have forfeited that job to a computer who averages the index – how can 1 program suit all investors goals – reading the CD was like the light going on it has given me the words to convey to clients how to focus on their goals – I am always amused how people work for 30 40 years and become multi millionaires then hand the responsibility of their funds over to someone as Dale puts it has no real wealth of their own.

The CD has real practical applications for us and our client base I cannot wait to put it into practice."
